X=4

y=3

Now,

[tex]2x + y \\ = 2 \times 4 + 3 \\ = 8 + 3 \\ = 11[/tex]

b. Given,

a=-2

b=5

Now,

[tex] {a}^{2} + b \\ = {( - 2)}^{2} + 5 \\ = 4 + 5 \\ = 9[/tex]
